Beyond general gunsmithing skills and abilities, I've acquired additional training and experience in specific firearms.  The following are certifications  and specialty skills that I have obtained through intensive training with specific firearms types and models.  These concentrations were important for me because of their unique attributes in the industry or popularity in the market.

Certified 1911 Pistolsmith

Just after the turn of the last century, John Browning brought us the quintessential semi automatic handgun, introduced as the Colt 1911.  It was the first successful semi automatic pistol and his design is still used, copied, and respected today.

In addition to the regular instruction provided for the model 1911, I have over 40 hours of intensive training and hands on experience on 1911 style pistols.  This training included not only design, function, troubleshooting and repair but also specific training in building and customizing the 1911 style pistols.  This training covered ultimate carry side arms, race ready competition guns, and hi-capacity wide body designs.  I would like to discuss customizing your 1911 or building you a custom firearm to your exacting specification. 

Certified Glocksmith

In 1982, the firearms industry was launched into the next major innovation since the turn of the century.  Gaston Glock released his now famous Glock 17 and the handgun world would never be the same.  Now the standard for military, law enforcement, completion and concealed carry, the Glock is among the most reliable handguns on the market.

Because of the shear numbers and popularity of this firearm, I felt that my customers deserved a smith who went the extra mile to learn every aspect of this system.  I have completed nearly 40 hours of additional training and hands on experience with the Glock and feel confident that I can address and correct any issue that may present itself.  In addition to the repair and maintenance, I have also studied customization techniques for this system that will make it a standout for concealed carry or completion.  Give me a call and we can talk about how you can take your Glock to the next level.

Certified AR-15/M4 Riflesmith

Today the sporting and completion shooting worlds are moving toward the durable and simplistic design first given to us by Eugene Stoner as the descendent of the AR-10.  Adapted from the military's Colt M16, we are more familiar with the modern AR15 semi automatic and the M4 full automatic versions.

​With the popularity of this firearm design, I felt my customers deserved a smith that had a higher level of knowledge and experience.  I became certified in this design with an additional 20 plus hours of intensive training and hands on experience to better understand the design, function, troubleshooting, and repair of this system.  I have gone in depth with not only the weapon, but the modifications and accessories available to customize this platform to meet all of your hunting, defense, patrol, and competition requirements.

Certified Cowboy Action Armorer

What was old is now new.  The shooting community has found a new passion for all things old.  Cowboy Action Shooters are now a large and growing part of the firearms industry.  Their affection for late 19th and early 20th century firearms and period clothing has dramatically  increased the rise of this sport. 

Because this sport is growing and adding more members every day, I felt it necessary to improve my knowledge and skills with this class of weapons.  I have added more than 80 hours of training on this specific class of firearms to provide my customers with a knowledgeable professional.  This training focused on the single action revolver, lever action rifles, and shotguns in break and pump actions.  The repair and customization of these firearms is critical to the competitive side of this sport.  So whether it's a revolver, lever gun, pump or double; I can provide the maintenance, repair, and tuning that meet the challenging demands of this sport.
